Just two minutes later, on of the reception guys brought us two ice cold beers. Later, when we returned from lunch, we found a small table at our spot on the beach. 3rd: What is your favourite dessert on the island? I answered her “Nothing, we don’t like sweets”. 2nd: What is your favourite food on the island? I answered her “shrimps, in any style”. 1st: What is your favourite drink on the island? I answered her “beer and tequila”. On our last day, the lady from the reception told me that she has got a few questions. We had two minor issues in the bathroom which have been settled immediately. Good value for money! The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Just a few footsteps away from the town. The rooms are basic, but very clean and even spacious. We just stayed a whole month at Casa Maya and had a great time! It’s a cozy hotel with only 7 rooms, located just in front of the (more or less) private beach with sunbeds and parasols. They absolutely ruined an otherwise beautiful stay for my sister and I. The Problem: There is a new place next door called Trebol. We had burgers after a long night and were satisfied. The drinks at the beach were gorgeous and tasty. If you stay at the Casa you can sit in the beach chairs across the street which is a MAJOR bonus as beach chairs run upwards of 800 pesos on the beach for the day. It’s on a nice strip of the ever decreasing beach. If they put a coffee maker in the room it would be a bonus. Such a nice place to sit and face the day. The coffee is instant so in my mind not worth drinking but you get a beautiful plate of fruit and a piece of toast with butter and jam. Breakfast: Breakfast is free and served on the beach across the path. We got water in a few minutes when we made a fuss. Unfortunately (and this is a guess) they turn the water off at seemingly random times a day. They provide beach towels at the front desk. There is a fridge in the main area to store anything you need to keep cold. It’s clean, the bed is comfy and when there is water - the shower is good. The basics : This place is not the Hilton but it is not that bad. We booked through and did not check more recent reviews- our bad. The new bar next door is going to KILL this sweet, affordable place. I am so sorry to have to complete this post.

In other words this isn't hard to come to from, say, an iPhone. Since both have equally good 48-megapixel sensors, both can produce 100fps 4K slow-mo (or 200fps at 1080P) and all the other promised features, making the drone much easier to use than others which mix-and-match the sensors and lenses. One with a 24mm EFL (wide) lens and one with a 70mm EFL (what DJI call a medium telephoto) lens. Some can't look past the slightly smaller image sensor than the Air 2S, but the new image sensor is a modern stacked CMOS and – more importantly – there are two of them. The DJI Air 3 has a lot to recommend it at price which – while certainly not pocket money – is less of a stretch than others on this list. Read our full DJI Mini 3 Pro review for more details If you want to save, consider the newer less-expensive DJI Mini 3, which lacks the collision sensors. The only downside is the pricing is, inevitably, broadly comparable to similarly capable aircraft (like the old Air 2, which came in at 570g). The message is clear: we’re not going to let the weight restriction prevent creatives from achieving their goals. There will also be a choice of batteries, with a heavier long-life battery available in some markets (though this will push the take-off weight over the magic number). Department of Homeland Security for government use, are now being banned as being a security risk… Read on for more info: Five Common Myths about DJIĭJI is still a very dominant player in the drone market, we are happy to see some competition out there, and we are impressed with the options available, but the options from DJI really are great machines, so the choice can be difficult. The DJI Mini 3 arrived in May 2022 and redefined what DJI was doing with the ultra-light category prior to that point neither of their offerings had any collision sensors but with this launch, they not only added sensors in three directions but created a new camera gimbal capable of turning to capture portrait images.Īt the same time, a new ‘DJI RC’ remote control became available, giving customers the choice of a model with a screen to save the (fairly minimal) fuss of connecting a phone). government specs, and are approved by the U.S. It’s always been hard for us to understand why drones that were built to U.S. Update: DJI has posted an analysis that attempts to debunk the top five myths about their company and security concerns. Just remember, manufacturers of non-DJI drones also offer account sync, including flight logs and images, so research is required no matter what drone you purchase. Should you opt for the US Government approved DJI Government edition drones, this task gets easier. as well, as DJI uses AWS servers, like most websites do. Some account data makes it to DJI servers in China if you have an active account with them, and/or have purchased products directly from their site, but you can operate a drone offline, then download the flight data before you re-connect to the internet to avoid having it sync to DJI servers – even then, those servers are probably based in the U.S. DJI is going to great lengths to ensure that your data is safe and secure, with servers around the world, and even some pre-COVID talk of opening a manufacturing facility to go with their offices in the United States.įor those that are worried, if you follow DJI’s guidelines, with the right settings, your flight data can be properly, and even secured locally. World politics are inspiring folks to avoid drones from this Chinese based manufacturer. Our recommendations include options ranging from billiards tables built for pros to tabletop sets that will satisfy green players and party-goers. Many of the pool tables we recommend are approved by the Billiards Congress of America, which vets a slew of standards like level playing surfaces and high-quality felt. We created a list that spans multiple price points, various weights, and different construction options so you can get a pool table in your home whether you live in a suburban mansion or a small apartment. We researched pool tables across the marketplace and how to shop for one by researching professional billiard tables, the materials they’re made of, and how they fare in the home compared to a pool hall. Meanwhile, wool felt is considered the best material to have on top of this slate surface as it can resist moisture and is plenty durable, especially compared to synthetics like nylon and polyester. Slate is considered the best pool table material due to its resistance to moisture, warping, and general wear and tear. Manufacturers make cheaper options by using metal frames, medium-density fiberboard, and plywood playing surfaces. Solid wood frames and slate playing surfaces offer premium play and utmost durability, but they’re also the priciest and heaviest. If you’ve got uneven floors in your play space, opt for a pool table with adjustable legs. Many tables have built-in levelers to ensure balls roll evenly. You’ll need enough space for your pool table plus an extra five feet on each side to leave room for a cue. You can get compact tables for apartments and small living spaces, often equipped with foldable legs and at half the weight of a full-sized option.īefore you buy a full-sized pool table, measure the room where it’ll live. The pricier tables are often the heaviest and require professional assembly, plus extra hands to move (some of these tables weigh around 900 pounds). Pool tables measure anywhere from 7 feet (bar-sized) to 9 feet (tournament-sized), but 8 feet is the most common size for in the home. Best Slate: Playcraft Rio Grande 8-Foot Slate Pool Table. Best Bar-Sized Table: Barrington Springdale 7.5-Foot Pool Table.Best Mid-Range: Hathaway Augusta 8-Foot Pool Table Pool Table. Most Affordable: American Legend Maverick 7-Foot Billiard Table.

Once an entire brood has fledged, they will fly with their parents in slow, noisy parades around the area of the nest site in search of food. At 28 to 30 days after hatching, young swifts will leave the safety of their chimney nests for their first flight. By the time chimney swifts are 21 days old, they will cling tightly to the nest or chimney wall, rear back, and flap their wings furiously until they are panting and out of breath. Soon, most of the flight and body feathers will be unfurled, but the feathers around the face and head will stay in sheath for several days, giving the birds a frosty-faced appearance. The young are able to climb out of the nest after just a few days, and they exhibit preening behavior even before their feathers emerge.īy the time they are 8 or 10 days old, the babies’ feathers begin to unfurl. By 15 to 17 days of age, their eyes begin to open. The female normally lays three to five white eggs in a nest of twigs broken from the tips of tree branches, glued together with saliva and attached to inside wall of a chimney.īoth sexes are involved in nest construction and alternate incubating the eggs for 18 to 19 days, when the young begin to hatch. Their parents catch flying insects on the wing to feed them until the birds fledge from the chimney about 30 days after hatching. Chimney swifts are usually single-brooded, which means they lay eggs once a season. Nesting begins in May and can continue into August. They arrive in the continental United States in late March and are gone by early November. Where do Chimney Swifts Come From?Ĭhimney Swifts winter in the Amazon Basin of Peru. Swifts are actually unable to perch or stand upright in pas serine fashion. This is one reason they like to nest in chimneys. Both the claws and tail bristles are used to cling to rough vertical surfaces. You will hear a sharp chipping or ticking call that accompanies the swifts’ as they fly.Īt rest, an average 5-inch, 8-ounce adult is sooty gray to black with the throat slightly lighter or even silvery gray, in color. These acrobatic moves are most often created as they patrol the skies for mosquitoes and the other small flying insects that constitute the majority of their diet. Watching swifts is truly a magnificent as they create spectacular aerial ballets. You will notice a flickering, bat-like flight when flapping that is due to short and massive wing bones. When soaring, their long, scythe-shaped wings span about 12 1/2 inches, supporting a proportionately short body with a squared-off tail. They got their name because they have become accustomed to building their nests in chimneys as well as abandoned buildings and occasionally stone wells.Īdult chimney swifts are most commonly seen in flight usually in groups. I get gobs of rich black fruits that I picked out on the nose, plus really integrated, lithe tannins and medium acidity. That must be from Bourbon, which is known to have caramel sweetness rather than residual sugar. The palate has a sweetness to it right off the bat, but when I did my soon-to-be trademarked dryness test, I confirmed it is a dry wine. Did I mention alcohol? I have to blow that stuff out of the glass or else I will get drunk sniffing. Once I get stuck in- the nose is very rich with blackberry, blackcurrants, black plum, alcohol, eucalyptus, caramel, vanilla, minty greeness and some black espresso.
